Biography

Carl M. Gevers (1892-1979) began his career as a science teacher at Chattanooga High School and later became the first principal of Dickinson Junior High School. He also was a teacher and associate headmaster at Baylor School. He later acted as the first Principal of Dickinson Junior High School for 25 years before retiring in 1957.

Biography

After retiring, Gevers joined the Army and served as a captain in the infantry in World War I and as a colonel in World War II. He from the military in 1952 and became very active in the Boy Scouts. He served as chairman of camping in the local Boy Scout council and was instrumental in developing Camp Rolling Stone in the Cherokee National Forest.
