Perry, Ruth Clark

Biography

Ruth Clark Perry was a mathematics professor at UTC from 1922-1955. In 1933 she became head of the Mathematics Department and was Dean of Women to the Univesity from 1929-1946. She also served as treasurer of the Chattanooga Art Association and was one of the founders of the League of Women Voters and the Chatanooga branch of the American Association of University Women.

This collection contains extensive handwritten notes of calculus textbooks she created as Head of the Math Department at the University of Chattanooga from 1922 to 1955, which may have been subsequently used as an outline for courses in calculus.
