Scope and Contents
Brown used a UC Foundation study grant to attend Columbia University from 1973 to 1975. She completed her dissertation in 1984 after performing research on Black community leadership in Chattanooga. This series contains drafts of Dr. Brown’s dissertation, The Struggle to Control Black Leadership: A Study in Community Power, as well as surveys and interviews Brown collected as part of her research.
