This series contains personal photographs and travel mementos. Photographs are of Grote as a child and young man. Included are both Irvine and Nita Grote’s class photographs as well as many early 20th Century images that are not identified. Travel mementos include certificates and awards for reaching exceptional destinations, including sailing around the North Pole, crossing the Polar Circle and the Equator. Also included are certificates of membership to the Hudson Bay Explorers, the Order of the Trident and the Brotherhood of the Nautilus, and a certificate acknowledging Grote being “borne on the wings of a Clipper of the Pan American World Airways.”
