States he doesn’t know why the News and Courier haven’t sent a copy of review to Messrs. Houghton, Mifflin & Co. Mentions that he saw the article by a Mr. Birch in Publisher’s Weekly and is glad the period of disdain by the Intelligentsia has not hindered appreciation of Birch’s work. Mentions it was great fortune that Birch illustrated “Skylark,” and hopes that Century Co. will restore the entire set of Birch’s drawings to its commercial edition. Hopes that Ashfield is going well for Christine.
