Biographical/Historical note
Richard Chase (1904-1988) was born near Huntsville, Alabama. He was an authority on English-American folklore. Some of his works include “Grandfather Tales: American-English Folk Tales,” “Hullabaloo, and Other Singing Folk Games,” and “The Jack Tales.”
