Biographical / Historical

Max Anacker was born on August 19, 1931 in in Bern, Switzerland, but his parents returned to the United States shortly after his birth, settling in Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1932. After three years at the University of Chattanooga, Max was appointed to the United States Naval Academy, from which he graduated in 1954. Following a career in chemical engineering, Anacker passed away on 2014 June 5. It is possible in that the art in the collection was created by Max, the son of University of Chattanooga professor Robert D. Anacker.
