Biographical / Historical

Andy Warhol (1928-1987) was an American artist and a leading figure in the Pop Art movement. He first worked as a commercial illustrator, and later became internationally famous for his paintings, as an avant-garde filmmaker, as a record producer, author, and public figure. He was also known for his association with wildly diverse social circles that included bohemian street people, distinguished intellectuals, Hollywood celebrities, and wealthy aristocrats.
