Biographical / Historical

Joseph Johnston was born in Blount, Tennessee in 1809. After his marriage to Caroline M. Hair (or Haire), he settled in Madisonville, Tennessee. It was there that he established a store and became a successful merchant. He died in 1874 and is buried in Madisonville Cemetery.
