Biographical / Historical
The Fellowship of Southern Writers was founded in 1987 by a group of writers from the Southern United States who met in Chattanooga. As a nonprofit organization, the Fellowship of Southern Writers was founded to encourage the creation and development of literature in the South. As a part of this mission, the Fellowship commemorates outstanding literary achievement, and offers awards, prizes and fellowships to recognize distinction in writing. The Fellowship of Southern Writers is a part of the Southern Lit Alliance.
