Biography

Dr. James W. Livingood (1910-2005) was born in Birdsboro, PA. He went to Gettysburg College in 1934 and recieved a Ph.D. in history in 1937 from Princeton University. He worked as a faculty member at the University of Chattanooga from 1937-1975. During this time he was the dean of the College of Arts and Sciences from 1937-1966 and dean of the university from 1966-69.
